In context to the OSRAM jubilee the GALLERY has attended itself to another international perspective on painting.

The abstract pictures of the Iranian artist Mojè Assefjah impress by the lightness of the colors and the weightlessness of the forms; the duct of the brush is seemingly playful and fleeting. The non-illustratable planes and lines shift in the eye of the beholder to objects, which - easily and lucid - do mediate an idea of spatiality. The canvas becomes an imaginary and imagined occurrence of color.
The pictured impression, from which Assefjah creates her paintings, is often quite palpable. Since a very early intensive examination of paintings from the renaissance so called "frozen moments", events that arise from relating forms and shapes to a time and space, form an important starting point of her work.

So accordingly Assefjah uses photographs of other people in her project "Der andere Blick" (2003/2006), that they collected for her with a camera - for example in Iceland, or most of all in the home country of the artist, Iran. The Persian exhibition's title "Jam-avary", that means as much as "collect" or "add", describes a specific artistic procedure, in which the artist composes visual impressions from the photographs. The examination of the eye of the beholder and the transfer to the subjectiveness of the paintings is an experiment for the developement of more perspectives. On the other hand Assefjah thereby issues a clear picturesque statement in which the aesthetic moment loosens every sample from its conventions and conditions.

The exhibition presents both photo archive and paintings and therefore defines the artistic emphasis on the pictures trigger and pictoresque aesthetic involvement.
