Light & Building, Frankfurt am Main, Germany, 2008
Standards for booth architecture and lighting design comply with highest quality.
The Light & Building Fair in Frankfurt (Germany) is the world’s leading trade fair for the architecture and lighting industry. Therefore standards for booth architecture and lighting design have to comply with the highest quality. In addition a wide variety of products and their application have to be presented within a comparatively small space.
The exhibition concept
This was achieved by implementing an architectural concept that arranged product presentations on both sides of the booth and any necessary elements (e.g. info counter, meeting rooms, kitchen, hospitality area) on two levels in the back as well as a large “market place” in the middle, that showcased four huge application scenarios. These scenarios merge products from different focus areas: HOME, OFFICE, CITY and SHOP.
The lighting concept responds to the distinct areas of the booth's architecture and creates several light atmospheres with a balanced overall picture: a comfortable dim light in the hospitality area on the upper level with a view over the brilliantly lit center; adjusted light cones highlight the products and the important points.
A homely atmosphere
Homely lighting creates a feel-good atmosphere and expresses individual lifestyle: with innovative economical light sources in all colors, shapes and sizes.
A little light work.
Office lighting has to meet extremely high demands in terms of quality and economy: with daylight-dependent control, presence control and with integration in extensive lighting management systems.
City lighting
City lighting brings streets and squares to life at night, offers security and aids orientation. What is needed is a perfect combination of functionality, aesthetics and efficiency.
Selling through seduction
Shop lighting taps into our curiosity, creates desire and conveys a positive attitude to life. And what’s more, it needs to be energy-efficient.
