Thomas Schaffer appointed new CFO at OSRAM

 

With effect from April 1, 2009 Thomas Schaffer will join the management board of OSRAM GmbH and take responsilbilty as CFO (Chief Financial Officer). He succeeds Johannes Närger, who has joined the Board of Bosch and Siemens Home Appliances Group as head of Finance and Human Resources.

Aged 50, Thomas Schaffer started his career with a traineeship at Siemens in 1979. After studying business administration at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, he served in various business administration posts. From 2005 to 2008 he was in charge of Business Administration and Controlling for the Automation Group in China. His subsequent and most recent position was as CFO of the Imaging & IT Division of the Healthcare Sector in Erlangen.
