REGENSBURG -Tried and trusted high-performance light emitting diodes from Osram Opto Semiconductors enable mobile phones to take superb pictures. LED can replace conventional discharge lamps to provide the flash for the integrated camera. In contrast to discharge lamps, LED do not need any time to charge up so the flash is available "in a flash". These small light sources provide uniform light up to a distance of about two metres thanks to the optimised reflector that is accommodated with the light source in an SMT LED package. With a mounting depth of just 2 mm, LED are exactly the right size for mobile phones. In most cases, they will last longer than the phone itself. White or RGB LED (MultiLED) are available. White LED offer normal white light and provide high-quality results with natural colour rendering. RGB LED can be used to create a particular effect because they emit light with different colour temperatures. The individual colours can be selected directly, so there’s no need for filters. At the push of a button, a simple daylight shot can be turned into a romantic sunset scene.
