Wireless or wireless – do you know the differences?
Dear Sir or Madam,
Update for excellent lighting solutions – valuable information succinctly presented in our LightNews.
OSRAM LightNews team
Reliable detection sensor technology from OSRAM
Thanks to DALI-2 certification and close cooperation with other controller manufacturers, OSRAM DALI sensors and couplers can be conveniently integrated into various types of lighting and building management systems. The portfolio provides you with everything you need to implement efficient solutions for the most diverse requirements in a large number of projects.
Wireless light management – advantages and application examples
The new application guide from OSRAM demonstrates new possibilities, highlights the differences and commonalities of the well-established wireless technologies Bluetooth (Low Energy and Mesh), Thread, Zigbee and WiFi with regard to technical features, costs and energy footprint.
Tuner4TRONIC Field app update: easier maintenance and installation
With the Tuner4TRONIC (T4T) software suite, luminaire manufacturers can speed up their production process by programming OSRAM drivers via DALI and/or NFC in a very simple, fast, reliable and cost-effective way. The new updated T4T Field app v2.2.1 provides additional benefits.
BENDABLE steel profile helps you get the light where it’s needed. Engineered with the utmost durability and ease of installation in mind, this profile enables you to attach the LED strips safely and permanently on almost any surface. Due to its special design, it smoothly aligns itself with almost any round or curved surface where you want your LINEARlight FLEX DIFFUSE Side LED strips to go.
Motion detectors are an important component for the energy-saving use of light. In the case of the PIR ("passive infrared") sensor, heat radiation is the decisive factor. Here, a so-called pyrosensor reacts if the infrared heat radiation changes within its detection range. If a person enters this area, the system converts the voltage jump triggered by this into an electronic impulse that switches on the light. Normally, these motion detectors also have an integrated twilight switch so that the light is only switched on at dusk or in the dark. But what actually happens when animals, such as dogs or cats, enter the detection area?
Question: Are there PIR sensors that can distinguish between humans and animals and only react to humans?
a) Yes, through the so-called Human Response Technology.
b) No, PIR sensors react to heat radiation, regardless of whether it comes from humans or animals.
c) It depends on the size, animals with a height below 15 cm are not recognized.
