OSRAM convinces at the German Innovation Awards 2019 in Berlin, where the jury of experts of the German Design Council awarded the OSRAM LEDriving headlights for the VW Golf VII in the category "Excellence in Business to Consumer - Transportation".
OSRAM receives award at German Innovation Award 2019
The German Design Council annually honours innovative products, solutions and services that create real added value for users with the German Innovation Awards. OSRAM has successfully achieved this with its first LED-based full headlights for retrofitting on the Golf VII models.
"The German Innovation Award is a great confirmation of our work. Our team has developed a full-LED headlight that not only impresses with its outstanding performance but also with its striking design and at the same time emphasises the character of the vehicle more strongly", says OSRAM product designer Marc Schwenkbeck.
Better light in road traffic
The LED-based retrofit full-beam headlights are available for all Golf VII models previously equipped with halogen or xenon headlamps. They are suitable for VW Golf VII car models before the facelift (08/2012 -2017) with OEM halogen or OEM xenon headlights with halogen daytime running lights.
The headlight delivers up to 200 percent higher luminous efficacy and up to 100 percent whiter light than standard headlight or halogen lamps compared to statutory minimum requirements (ECE R112). Obstacles in road traffic are illuminated much brighter and visibility and comfort are increased. The LED headlight scores with modern optics, low energy consumption, long service life and a simple conversion without further conversion measures on the vehicle. The product is available in the Black, Chrome and GTI editions.
