Burst Lamps
Xenon lamps are made of quartz glass and have high internal pressure.
- Is this lamp type suitable for this projector and has the correct lamp been selected in the projector software?
- Have you change the lamp prior to reaching OSRAM's “XBO Service Warranty”?
- Was the lamp installed correctly with no added stress, twisting or turning on the lamp?
- Check that the projector exhaust/extraction fans are running. Are they moving air at the correct volumes/speeds needed to cool the lamp (specified by projector's instruction manual)?
- Check that all projector air filters are clean according to the projector's instruction manual. OSRAM has proven that dirty filters increase the temperature of the lamp.
- Avoid scratches on the outer surface of the quartz.
- Prior to lamp installation, inspect each lamp to look for damages that may have occurred during transport.
- Do not touch the surface of the quartz glass bulb with bare hands, oils and other chemicals as they may damage or compromise the integrity of the quartz glass.
- Strong bulb blackening (usually due to insufficient lamp cooling) causes a rise in internal lamp temperature and pressure which can ultimately lead to a rupture if not corrected.
