Halogen low voltage lamps are available in a variety of voltages and strengths. Voltages extend from 6V to 50V, while the performance levels lie between 10W and 590W. Halogen low voltage lamps are also available with reflector, which can have a different coating depending on usage. The base types include simple pin, ceramic and adjusted base. Some lamps have a cable connection instead of a base.
Halogen low voltage lamps are employed in a variety of applications, e.g. in overhead projectors, for surgical lighting, for endoscopy lighting, effect lighting and many more.


Features and Benefits
Low voltage halogen lamps offer an almost point-shaped light source. This enables the use of very efficient small optical systems and allows the design of small light systems. A further benefit is the compact shape. Halogen low voltage lamps, especially the higher performance lamps, are considerably smaller than mains voltage lamps of equal performance.
In the XENOPHOT version Xenon is used as filling gas. In this way these lamps achieve up to 10% higher luminous efficiency with the same power consumption. XENOPHOT lamps are identified in the product catalogue by the abbreviation HLX. For some lamps the efficiency was increased further by the use of IRC technology (Infrared Reflective Coating).

IRC Technology
60% of the created radiation of a standard halogen lamps are infrared (IR) rays. The innovative IRC technology increases the efficiency of halogen lamps by reflecting a major part of the generated unused IR radiation back to the coil where it is converted into visible light. The infrared reflective coating at the outside of the burner acts as an IR mirror but lets nearly 100% of the visible light pass. IR capsules produce up to 30% higher luminous efficacy than standard lamps (of the same condition wattage and lamp life). This gain of efficacy was further improved by the xenon gas filling.
