Light art for the connection tunnel of the "Bayerische Versicherungskammer"

In a long tradition the connection tunnels in the building complex were designed as works of light art. The installation  fakes the experience of a slowly changing mood of light, like clouds on a summer day that cause an interplay of light and shadow.

The lighting idea
The idea to transfer the lighting atmosphere of a clouded sky into the tunnel was implemented by installing room-high glazing with a backlight.

The lighting concept
The aim of a lighting design was to find an ideal position for the fluorescent tubes to create a crisp light impression with preferably low-energy consumption. Numerous experiments were arranged to find the best glazing and grade of matting.
The installation is driven field-by-field using a DALI light management system.
