The Lok-it! system from OSRAM
The new modular one-touch concept for entertainment lamps
Lok-it!, the new lamp/base system developed by OSRAM, enables lamps to be replaced in the shortest possible time even under difficult conditions – and that applies to ceramic, halogen and high-pressure discharge lamps. Simply insert, give the lamp a quarter turn and it is locked in position and accurately aligned.
The modular Lok-it! lamp/base system for halogen lamps and high-pressure discharge lamps in quartz and ceramic versions gives intelligent entertainment fixtures a multifunctional dimension. The bayonet system comprising of the lamp base and holder makes handling particularly easy. Lamps can be changed with one hand, either from the back or front depending on the design of the fixture. All Lok-it! lamps are available with a choice of long or short base for two light centre lengths. The PG42d-47 holder in the system developed by OSRAM is extremely robust with a long average service life of more than 6,000 hours. This ensures excellent electrical and mechanical contact even in particularly difficult situations, for example during transport or in rapid spotlight movements. Just a quarter turn fixes the lamp securely and aligns it accurately. A mechanical stop prevents the lamp from being turned too far.
Lok-it! lamps have a uniform light center length (LCL). They are therefore interchangeable and can be used in compatible luminaires. The compact design of the lamp and the holder enables smaller luminaires to be constructed. In discharge lamps, eXtreme-Seal technology (XS technology) improves the thermal load capacity so cooling can be reduced and the luminaires can run more quietly.
At present, Lok-it! lamps are available as arc discharge metal halide lamps with a rated output of 575 W (colour temperature 6,000 K), as ceramic metal halide lamps with a rated output of 250 W (4,200 K) and as warm white halogen lamps (3,200 K) with a rated output of 1,200 W. The models are available for voltages of 80 V, 120 V and 230 V/240 V. Further lamp types are in the pipeline.
The OSRAM PG42d-47 Lok-it! lampholder accepts all Lok-it! lamp base configurations and all lamp wattages. The lampholder is specified for a maximum wattage of 1500 W, a maximum ignition voltage of 6 kV and a maximum operating temperature of 250 °C / 480 °F.
